Rafael was founded by Spanish nobleman Rafael Gonzalez in 1928, primarily targeting the British market. After being acquired by El Rey Del Mundo cigar company in 1936, it was discontinued in the early 1960s. The brand was relaunched in 1965, produced together with El Delmondo, both of which are representatives of high-end luxury brands. Raphael cigars have a soft taste, with the core and wrapper tobacco coming from the Vuelta Abajo region. All sizes are handmade long core cigars (Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larg). There is only one short core cigar (Totalmente a Mano Tripa Corta), and the short core tobacco comes from the SemiVuelta region.
