Maya Selva launched Kunpe in 1999, with the brand name derived from the Indian word Tawakha (meaning rolled tobacco). It is produced at Maya Selva's cigar factory in Honduras and is 100% made from carefully rolled tobacco leaves from Nicaragua, emitting pleasant aromas of roasted coffee, hazelnuts, and leather.
