Founded by Rafael Nodal in 2011, he immigrated from Cuba with his family at the age of 16. Before entering the cigar industry, he worked in healthcare and met Hank Bischoff, a mental health therapist who was interested in Cuban culture, becoming his current partner. In the 1990s, Nodal had lunch with Bischoff and Nick Perdomo and was introduced to the fun of cigar culture. In 1998, a website was launched to sell cigars from manufacturers in Miami, and later took over the business of Havana Cuba Cigar Co, the parent company of Oliveros. Nowadays, AR cigars are rolled by Jochy Blanco at Tabacarera La Palma cigar factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, and some are also produced at Nestor Plasencia Jr. and AJ Fernandez cigar factories in Nicaragua.
