The brand was founded by Arturo Fuente Sr. in 1912. The family comes from Cuba, and in 1902, the focus of the Fuente family shifted from Cuba to the United States, where they took root. The Fuente family stopped producing cigars for nearly 22 years and only began producing small quantities of cigars in 1946.
